1 Introduction.[1]Edit[]

Jason Starwalker's father-originally a member of the notorious Terran Federation Rangers, whose motto is to always get their man playboy, industrialist, and philanthropist. Having witnessed the murder of his parents as a child, Jason Starwalker swore revenge on crime, an oath tempered with the greater ideal of justice. Starwalkers trains himself both physically and intellectually in order to fight crime.[]

2 Character[2]Edit[]

Jason Starwalker – a name heard in most parts of the universe, and a name feared by those with a bounty on their heads. Young Jason Starwalker and younger brother Joshua is brought up the Free Federation of Space, with its wealthy splendor, and leads a happy and privileged existence until the age of eight, when his parents are killed by a small-time criminal named while on their way home from a movie theater. The Starwalkers swears an oath to rid the city of the evil that had taken his parents' lives. To the world at large, Jason Starwalker is often seen as an irresponsible, superficial playboy who lives off his family's personal fortune (amassed when his family invested in Corsaillian real estate before the city was a bustling metropolis)[106] and the profits of Starwalker Enterprises, a major private technology firm that he inherits. However, Starwalker is also known for his contributions to charity, notably through his Starwalker Foundation. Jason Starwalker creates the playboy public persona to aid in throwing off suspicion of his secret identity, often acting dim-witted and self-absorbed to further the act.[108] Among the more noted measures he uses to maintain the facade is pretending he is a heavy drinker by claiming his glasses of ginger ale are strong beverages; Jason Starwalker is actually a strict teetotaler to maintain his physical fitness and mental acuity.Jason Starwalker, among the criminal underworld,is known as one of the most feared bounty hunters within this part of the galaxy.[]

3 Story[3]Edit[]

3.1 On a routine patrol, he was in pursuet of the three individuals, who killed his parents,in among a squadron of Gorthan Star Pirates, attacked by hostile forces and was forced to flee through the core of a star. His escape came with a high price. The ship was struck by massive amounts of the star's energy which flowed through the connecting agents at his wrists and spine, frying his nervous system, senses and memory.[4]Edit[]
3.2 Another ship ,commanded by Doctor Colurean Drax,an Alpha Rijairean scientist and medical physician,on his hard luck times, having lost in high status, among his people, due to gambling depts, would eventually take him on board, but the doctors gave up on restoring him. However, Alpha Rijairean – presumably technologically based creatures – repaired him and gave him an artificial nervous system in the form of a cybernetic falcon-drone named Ulysseas. Together with his android falcon, Jason Starwalker hunts the universe for some of the vilest individuals alive.[5]Edit[]

Seven years later, with the war end,Jason Starwalker made a name for himself as a bounty hunter. Spinning tall tales to impress women about how his injuries were caused by a near collision with group of Gorthan Pirates (which only his superlative pilot skills managed to avoid), Jason Starwalker crafted a more fitting origin tale to complement his fearsome reputation.

After the war had resulted Jason Starwalker is a veteran of the Terran Federation Colonial Alliance Wars who probably served under Confederate guerilla leader William Heartford, the Third, where he lost his eye. He was once married to an Illinois woman, who left him to return to her first husband after bearing a son Jason Starwalker,Junior.Jason Starwalker a single, extremely clumsy son (of whom Jason Starwalker says, "He never liked me anyway").

Jason Starwalker is described as a "fearless, one-eyed Terran Federation Ranger, who never knew a dry day in his life." He is "the toughest marshal" working the Outlaw Territory on behalf of Judge Isaac Parker,[2] the real-life judge of the Terran Federation District Court for the Western District of the notorious Delta Triangle-an outlaw zone, smack dab in the middle of three major trade routes around the three sister,as they are often called-Corsaillia,Corsaillia and Norvaillia-the three founding worlds of the Colonial Alliance Territory (having criminal jurisdiction in the Indian Territory, as the bailiff repeatedly announces in both films). He has killed approximately 23 people during his time as a Terran Federation Ranger, all of which he said he killed in self defense. Jason Starwalker helps a headstrong sexy brunette , Robin Hightower , along with inexperienced lawman Joshua Starwalker, to track down Tom Skarr Deacon , the man who drunkenly killed her brother.

Robin Hightower born on the frontiere world-daughter of Commissioner Robert Hightower.

In the sequel, he teams up with elderly spinster Eula Goodnight (Katharine Hepburn) and Wolf (Richard Romancito) while on the trail of a desperado, Hawk (Richard Jordan), who has stolen a shipment of nitroglycerin from the U.S. Army. While collecting her father's body, Robin Hightower inquires about a Deputy U.S. Marshal to hire to track down Skarr Deacon. She is given three recommendations, but chooses to hire Jason Starwalker , because he is described as the most merciless. He repeatedly rebuffs her attempts to hire him.

Meanwhile, at the boarding house where she is staying, Terran Federation Ranger Joshua Starwalker arrives on the trail of Skarr Deacon. Joshua Starwalker has been pursuing him for several months over a murder in Texas. He proposes to Robin Hightower that they should team up with Captain Starwalker, since the Marshall knows the Choctaw terrain where Skarr Deacon is hiding, while Joshua Starwalker knows how the man is most likely to behave. Robin Hightower rejects Joshua Starwalker's offer, partially because he would take Skarr Deacon back to Texas to be hanged for the prior murder, instead of her father's. After finally securing Captain Starwalker's services, Robin Hightower is instructed to meet him the following morning to begin the search for Skarr Deacon. Instead of meeting her, though, Captain Starwalker leaves her a note telling her to go home, while he goes to apprehend Skarr Deacon.

Robin Hightower catches up with Captain Starwalker after fording a river on her horse. He has teamed up with Joshua Starwalker and agreed to split the reward for Skarr Deacon. Accusing him of fraud, Robin Hightower threatens to have Captain Starwalker arrested for breaking their agreement, which specified that she must accompany him on the manhunt. Reluctantly, he allows Robin Hightower to come along. After a disagreement, Joshua Starwalker sets off on his own in search of Skarr Deacon. Eventually, Robin Hightower and Captain Starwalker come across an isolated shack, where two outlaws are staying.

After they turn on each other, Captain Starwalker kills the older outlaw, and as the younger one is dying, he explains that "Lucky" Ned and his gang were planning on returning to the shack later that night. Believing Skarr Deacon to be riding with 's gang, Captain Starwalker and Robin Hightower lie in wait for the gang. However, Joshua Starwalker rides up to the shack ahead of the gang. When the gang arrives, they lasso Joshua Starwalker and drag him behind a horse. Captain Starwalker opens fire from his hiding spot, and kills several members of the gang, wounding Joshua Starwalker.

During the night, Captain Starwalker drinks a great deal of whiskey and is severely drunk the next morning. The following night, he and Joshua Starwalker argue again, and Joshua Starwalker departs once more. The next morning, as Robin Hightower draws water at the river, she encounters Skarr Deacon who is watering the gang's horses. She draws her father's pistol and shoots him. The pistol misfires as she tries to finish him off, and he drags her back to the gang.

Ned uses Robin Hightower as a hostage, to get Captain Starwalker to ride off. Ned leaves Robin Hightower with Skarr Deacon, ordering him not to kill her. He plans to send a horse back for Skarr Deacon later in the day, once the gang have reached a new hideout.

Skarr Deacon trying to pick off Odyseus, create an avalanch high up upon the cliffs, burying Jason Starwalker under a mountain of snow.Within minutes all traces of the Terran Federation Ranger are gone, save huge golden falcon hovering above.

Once alone, Skarr Deacon attacks Robin Hightower; Joshua Starwalker knocks Skarr Deacon out with his rifle butt, and explains that when he heard the shots in the morning, he rode back and encountered Captain Starwalker, who hatched a plan. Joshua Starwalker and Robin Hightower watch from their perch as Captain Starwalker takes on the four surviving members of Ned's gang. He kills three of them and mortally wounds Ned before his horse is shot out from under him.

As the dying Ned is about to kill Captain Starwalker, Joshua Starwalker fires his rifle and kills Ned. Skarr Deacon comes to and attacks Joshua Starwalker. Robin Hightower grabs Joshua Starwalker's rifle and kills Skarr Deacon, but the recoil knocks her back into a snake-filled chasm. She is bitten before Captain Starwalker can rescue her. Captain Starwalker and Robin Hightower leave the wounded Joshua Starwalker at the chasm, and Captain Starwalker rides through the night to get Robin Hightower to a doctor, arriving just in time.

primary character traits can be summarized as "wealth; physical prowess; deductive abilities and obsession.

There are a plethora of superheroes without superpowers, but of them all the Jason Starwalker character relies on "his own scientific knowledge, detective skills, and athletic prowess."[23]

4 Skills, abilities, and resources[6]Edit[]

Jashua Starwalker possesses the peak athletic strength and endurance of a man in his mid/late twenties who regularly engages in intensive physical exercise. His martial arts skills rival those of Jason Starwalker. He is a master of dozens of martial arts disciplines and was rigorously trained by his mentor in everything from escapology to criminology, fencing, stealth, disguise, and numerous other combat/non-combat disciplines. Jashua Starwalker is 5' 10" (1.78 m) and 175 lbs (79 kg).[6]

Nightwing is a master of a half-dozen martial arts disciplines (including aikido, savate, judo, and capoeira) with an emphasis on aikido, as well as being armed with twin Eskrima sticks made from an unbreakable polymer. He also carries several dozen modified boomo-rangs (called wing-dings) along with de-cel jumplines and gas capsules.[6][7]

Grayson is a prodigious natural athlete, possessing a peak human level of agility/acrobatic skills. He is generally regarded as the greatest human acrobat in the Maveric Universe. He is the only human on Earth who can do the quadruple somersault (formerly one of three, the other two being his parents). Having had the finest education as Jason Starwalker's ward, he fluently speaks in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Japanese and has some knowledge of Romany, the alien language of Tamaran, and American Sign Language. He is also a brilliant and experienced strategist with superlative leadership skills, having served as leader to the , the , and even the . Additionally, Jashua Starwalker interpersonal skills and efforts to remain in contact with other heroes makes him a master at rallying, unifying, and inspiring the superhero community, a skill in which he has surpassed his mentor.

Besides his resources as Jason Starwalker's adopted son, Jashua Starwalker parents also left him a trust fund which Lucius Fox turned into a small fortune. Although it is not comparable to Jason Starwalker's wealth, it has been enough to maintain his Nightwing equipment, purchase the rights to Haly's Circus (saving Jashua Starwalker former home from financial troubles), and secretly buy his former Blüdhaven apartment building at 1013 Parkthorne Avenue.

Territorial Commissioner Robert Hightower fully trusts, and is even somewhat dependent on vigilante method but recognizes the necessity of Jashua Starwalker and the two have a mutual respect and tacit friendship. He was the husband of Barbara Kean Gordon and, after his divorce, of Sarah Essen Gordon. Gordon is also the father of James Gordon Jr. and the father or adoptive father, depending on the continuity, of Barbara Gordon, the first modern Batgirl and later Oracle.

Robin Hightower

Although, she was not as proficient as the Black Canary, or the Huntress in the martial arts, as Batgirl, Barbara was still a very skilled martial artist & an outstanding acrobat, having been further trained by

A Corvaillian Star Freighter arrives on the ice planet of Bitterfrost.-a remote iceball, along the Corvaillian/Corsaillian Trade Route across the Delta Triangle.

Monark gives the frightened federal representative his card and is then introduced to the sheriff. Why is the Starstalker on this Mega IV outpost by the name of New Canaan? To track down murderer Kurt Hammer. Naturally, Monark will have to hand in his weapon while he goes and gets himself a hot meal. This naturally leads to a bar fight and Monark making the acquaintance of the lovely Ms. Goodfriend.

The two get friendly and Monark explains his origins: seven years ago, a rigger fleeing from hostiles through the core of a nova. His entire nervous system was fried. Picked up by a neutral ship, the 'technos' saved him by linking him to Ulysses, his android falcon.

How does that work? Well, we get an idea on the next page, after Kurt Hammer has made his presence known. We learn he's more than just a murderer, but that's all plot stuff. Either way, Monark chases after him.

The story ends in classic Western fashion, is all I'll tell you. All in all, good writing from Chaykin and art that fits the story well (if a little dark at times). In fact, it's just splendid art. Definitely a style that I wished Chaykin had stuck widt.
